Westminster City Council - One City
Introduction One City logo
Piccadilly Circus At Westminster, our vision is to be a council which actively listens and responds to the needs of the people we serve. This is the principle at the heart of One City – our five year strategy to build strong communities and deliver excellent council services in Westminster.

Each year we use the results of research and consultation with our residents and stakeholders to come up with twenty projects that will enhance quality of life in Westminster. These cover four areas: Order, Opportunity, Enterprise and Renewal. Projects can be new initiatives or improvements to existing services but woven through each, is our One City approach: to strengthen community relations, promote active citizenship, unite neighbourhoods and enhance customer service.

The Audit Commission recently announced the 2007 results for the Comprehensive Performance Assessment (CPA), where we were rated as one of the best councils in the country. One City projects are real priorities delivered in addition to the 250 other standard services we offer as a council.

In 2006 we consulted you on how you wanted One City to improve life in the city, and decided where we should set priorities for the second year of the programme.

Close partnership working with our private and public sector partners and residents is essential to the success of One City so we plan to update this area of the website regularly and try and keep you informed and involved in the development of the programme.

Whatever your interest, Westminster City Council welcomes and encourages you to get in touch with your questions and suggestions.
